Pricey Pricey Green

Ever want to try a $300/lb coffee? Here's your chance. I have a friend who knows someone who's got a connection who ...

... no, actually I have just been lucky enough to order a pound of the same coffee as the now infamous Best of Panama winner, La Esmeralda Especial. It pulled off a monumental purchase price of $130/lb green. Once it's been roasted and sent it to retail you are probably paying $300 for a single little bag!

We are going to be brewing it the weekend of the 20th-22nd, until it's gone. It's first come, first serve with no reservations and french press only. If you are in town make a point of coming by for a taste.

Be one of the few to taste the most expensive coffee in the world.

Edit: It should be clarified that this is not the actual winning lot but the "second picking" with some probable "first picking" mixed in. Same farm, same lot, same varietal, same trees even, just picked a little later in the same season. There are rumors that this picking is even better than the auction winner.

July's Espresso

Our guest espresso program marches on and this month we pull out the regional powerhouse and throw it into the grinder. During the third week of July we will be sampling Counter Culture's espresso, including:

Espresso Toscano
Espresso Aficionado
Espresso Forte
and a revitalized Five Country Espresso

Toscano is the blend de rigeur in these parts and it will be a good chance for you guys familiar with it to put us to the test. Come see if our technical skills are equal to our ambitions.
